The school has been buzzing with activity this week for our annual Careers Week.⭐ The focus this for this year has been S.H.A.P.E (Social Sciences, Humanities, and the Arts for People and the Economy), and our students in Middle and Senior School have had the opportunity to listen to some fascinating talks from visiting speakers during the week, including; Creative Arts Marketing at Fox, Disney and the BBC, Cyber Security in the Defence Sector, Publishing & Media, Occupational Psychology, Complementary Medicine and Acupuncture, Live TV Production with the BBC, Doing Psychology as a Degree Subject, and Media Promotion in the Football Industry, and more!🤩 What an amazing line-up of speakers we have been lucky enough to welcome. Combined with assemblies, workshops, and life-skills sessions, this week has given our students a fantastic insight into what career opportunities are open to them in this fast-paced, ever-changing world. 🌍 Thank you to all of the speakers, many of whom are our parents and alumni, for giving up their valuable time to inspire our students. 👏🏼

This morning, following a request for an 'Art Day' from the children on the School Council, the Lower School gave a warm Farlington welcome to award-winning author and illustrator, John Bond. 📚 The children enjoyed a Book Week assembly and a series of exciting creative workshops with a focus on the role of the illustrator in telling stories. ✏️ The children then had the opportunity to have their books signed by John, a wonderful ending to a fantastic day! Thank you, John, for an inspiring morning! ⭐ The Steyning Bookshop

Our Reception children have had a really exciting week enjoying the great outdoors! 🍄 During their weekly Forest School lessons, they have been following the progress of 'Sneezy' and 'Hiccup', the two dragons who have recently made our Forest School area their home, along with their recently-hatched baby dragon! 🐲 To protect themselves from the dragons, the children made beautiful magic wands from sticks, wool, and natural items they found in the forest. Thankfully, the wands kept everyone safe, although the children did then turn the teachers into frogs...🐸🪄

Our Lower School children had a very special visitor during their Celebration Assembly last week when Olympic Gold medallist David Faulkner MBE joined them to present their end-of-season awards. 🥇 The children from Reception to Year 4 were excited to see his Olympic Gold medal and MBE up close. Years 3 and 4 then listened to David talk about the importance of teamwork and working together towards a common goal. 💫 There were some excellent questions asked at the end, such as how he celebrated his gold medal, how old he was when he started playing hockey, how many times he played for his country and what has he done since he stopped playing. 👏🏼 It was an inspirational morning for everyone, and we were very grateful to Mr Faulkner for giving up his time to come and see us!🤩

Following the introduction of VAT on private school fees, it is really important to us that we are doing all that we practically can to keep our education affordable. We know that our parents work long hours to be able to send their children to Farlington. We have had to really innovate to maintain excellent value for money, and are proud to only be passing on 9.5% of a potential 20% fee increase as a result of VAT. So, needless to say, we were absolutely thrilled to be rated 'GOOD VALUE' by The Telegraph in January 2025, when the paper published a league table analysing the fees of over 1,200 fee-paying schools across Britain. Come and see us to find out more about how we are keeping our fees affordable. Visit www.farlingtonschool.com/bookyourvisit to reserve a place at our OPEN MORNING on Saturday 1st March or to book a tour on another day.
