About Farlington Residentials - Research Programme

Farlington Residential Research Programme is a tailored two-week residential course offering you the chance to boost your university application by gaining a level 3 qualification in Research Skills, and helping you to develop key independent study skills to support your undergraduate studies. 

Our Residential Programme  provides a British Boarding School experience for international students looking for a short-term English immersion course and cultural experience in the UK. 

Our Research Programme includes specialist teaching with research topics flexible to each individually, but which might include focusing in one area from technology, science, medicine, child care, sport, culture, Arts, and business. 

Attending our Residential Research Programme might be a stepping stone towards seeking a permanent place at Farlington School as a full-time student (we offer a research scholarship with successful completion of the course against annual school fees). Our programme is also a great way of improving your language skills whilst gaining a qualification; or simply having the experience of studying at one of the UK's leading boarding schools. 

A British Boarding School experience for international students

Farlington School enjoys a strong reputation for its academic excellence and welcoming community. Farlington students are happy, fulfilled young people, fully engaged in the life of the school community, aspirational and committed to their studies. The school is set in 35 acres of beautiful park land, and is located within 20 minutes of Gatwick airport.

Accommodation & Food

Accommodation is provided within our boarding house, the Mansion House. Rooms are between two and four beds, and bathrooms are shared. Boys’ accommodation is separate from girls' accommodation, although shared communal facilities, including common rooms and a kitchen, are available for boarders to use at any time.

WiFi is available within the boarding house, allowing boarders to make video calls home. All phones, tablets and laptops are taken in before bedtime and returned in the morning, so that students get a good night’s sleep.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served in our main dining room. Snacks are also provided in the boarding house at evenings and weekends.

Safeguarding 

Bellevue Summer Schools are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, and we realise that it is often a difficult time for children and parents alike to be far from each other. Our comprehensive Safeguarding & Child Protection Policy and extensive procedures ensure that we keep children safe and families comfortable. The points below are some highlights from our safeguarding and welfare measures.

Trained & Approachable staff

All our staff members participate in safeguarding training specifically for our Summer Schools. They are supported by a highly trained and experienced safeguarding team. Students are looked after by Houseparents and dedicated welfare support staff. In addition, they can always approach any of our friendly staff members if they need help.

We follow safer recruitment processes to ensure that all staff members that work with us are suitable for working with children; this includes conducting appropriate background checks and following up on references for everyone. We also require external suppliers (e.g. transfer providers) to do the same.
