DANCE
At Farlington, we love to dance! We offer dance within the school curriculum for Nursery to Year 2, as a 'Creative Carousel' option for students in Year 7, and as an extra-curricular activity for every year group.
Our hugely talented dance teacher, Mrs Kayleigh Wells, with assistance from the fantastic Miss Sophie Bassett, teaches Farlington students of all ages in our newly fitted, bright and modern Dance Studio.
Mrs Wells and Miss Sophie also offer extra-curricular examination classes in the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing's Imperial Classical Ballet, Tap Dance and Modern Theatre Dance. These subjects may be taken in both group and private classes. To find out more about the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing, please click here.
In addition to these examination classes, Mrs Wells offers extra-curricular lessons in Street Dance, Musical Theatre and Lyrical / Contemporary Dance, all of which lead to performance opportunities throughout the school year, including the ever-popular annual dance show.
Each year, Farlington offers its 1-2-1 dance students the opportunity to compete in the video round of the ISA Dance Competition. We are proud to confirm that we have qualified as a finalist every time we have entered this competition.
During school holidays, we offer Performing Arts Workshops with Mrs Wells and Miss Sophie that are open to Farlington students and children from local schools. Please see below for further information.
We have also launched a very successful Scholarships programme for Dance. For more details, please see our Scholarships page.
Dance at Farlington is certainly flourishing and 2026 is set to be our most exciting year yet. Watch this space!
