The Farlington Riding Team of Lucia/Its Minster Doubt, Roseanna/Mundon Petanque, Sophie/Poynstown Sam and Anna/South American Dream arrived at Keysoe ready to compete in the Championship Plate Competition, which they had qualified for earlier in the year.

Roseanna competed in the scurry warm up class on Friday evening, gaining a clear round in a time of 57.68, just out of the rosettes to gain 12th place.

Saturday morning competing started with Lucia in 90cm jumping with style as an individual. She completed a very stylish clear round and was placed 3rd. Not many points between the top 3, so a very close competition.

The next class was 80-85cm showjumping with Roseanna, Anna and Sophie competing as a team of three. A very competitive class with our riders giving their all. As a team we were out of the placings, however, Roseanna was placed 3rd as an individual.

Sunday morning: a lovely sunny start. Roseanna was competing in the 70-75cm jumping with style. This was the last time that she could compete at this level. She produced a good round and achieved 3rd place.

Next was the 80-85cm jumping with style team of Anna, Sophie and Roseanna, with Roseanna competing as an individual as well. It was a very tricky course, with a lot of skinny fences and other technical jumping efforts; unfortunately our team was not placed in this class. Roseanna produced a cracking round of jumping and was placed 3rd.

Finally Lucia completed a lovely round in the 1.10m, a full up-to-height, technical course, and gained a well-deserved 4th place.  She was a very supportive Riding Captain to the other riders throughout the weekend, assisting with the course walking, moral support and warm up jumping.

Horses and riders were turned out beautifully each day, with fantastic support from the parents. As always, riders were a pleasure to be with and some amazing riding by all. A great experience for everyone.
